High School Senior’s Death Shows Regularity of Underage Drinking


The small village of Ottawa Hills, Ohio realized the prevalence of adolescent drinking after high school senior, Brian Hoeflinger was killed in February.
Hoeflinger, a good student and not known to use alcohol, crashed into a tree while driving with a BAC of 0.15.  The Ottawa Hills community was shocked by the loss of Brian. Hoeflinger’s family started “Brian Matters” a campaign to raise awareness for drunk driving especially among minors.
