According to two recent studies by the Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, drunk driving has decreased, but driving while on prescription drugs or marijuana has increased. Drunk driving has decreased by nearly one-third since 2007 and more than three-quarter since 1973.

She was found guilty of second-degree murder and drunken driving causing death.

Carolyn Kesel, 46, was arrested in early January and accused of drunk driving. She blew a .26 during a breathalyzer test and told authorities that she had been drinking vanilla extract.
