Cops Are Cracking Down In Southern MA

After multiple deadly accidents along routes 24 and I-195 police are cracking down on drivers. This past weekend, there were 9 alleged drunk drivers and police ticketed 222 other drivers in the area. This year alone 6 people have been killed on route 24 SO FAR - there were only 5 deaths in all of 2011!  Out of two of the men that were arrested for drunk driving this weekend, one was caught driving in the wrong direction while the other was involved in a 2-car accident.

Police are taking up extra patrols at peak hours in order to put a stop to this reckless driving and needless deaths.

A Message From A Concerned Father To Jason Kidd

In 2009, 11-year-old Leandra Rosado was killed in a drunk driving accident. A New York state law was passed in her name, Leandra's Law, which makes it an automatic felony to drive while intoxicated with someone under the age of 15 in the car. Lenny Rosado, Leandra's father, had a response to the incident with Jason Kidd earlier this month driving drunk and crashing his car.  He wrote an open letter to Kidd urging the basketball player to be a better role model. Below is just a small sample of the letter Rosado wrote.

"As a so-called role model to many young kids and young adults who enjoy watching you play, this has really put a dark cloud on my perception of you.

Jason, I was a great role model to my only child. My daughter Leandra’s short life came to an end because another irresponsible, reckless parent drove drunk and crashed a car filled with seven young girls.

My daughter was thrown out of the car and died.

I think it would be in your best interest to apologize to those of us who have had loved ones die because of individuals like you who drove drunk."

Jason Kidd Crashes SUV After Driving Drunk

NBA star Jason Kidd, who was just recently signed to the New York Knicks, crashed his Cadillac Escalade after (allegedly) driving drunk - though Kidd refused a breathalyzer test. Though family says he's not a drunk, witnesses saw him being carried out of a bar earlier that night. A perfect example of someone not taking responsibility for their actions and driving under the influence and putting not only themselves, but anyone else on the road, in danger.

Man Arrested On His *SEVENTH* DUI Charge!

A man from New Mexico was arrested on his SEVENTH drunk driving charge earlier this month. Not only did he crash into a Judge's car, but police believe he was responsible for two other hit-and-runs earlier that night. And to top it all off, he has two teenagers in the car with him! He was charged with "child abuse, providing alcohol to a minor, driving with a suspended or revoked license, driving with an open container, careless driving and refusing to submit to a blood-alcohol test." People like this are the reason Stop Drunk Driving Now exists! This man is not only a danger to himself, but worse, he is putting innocent people in danger as well.
