St. Louis Man Sentenced To 7 Years For Drunk Driving Crash


Ricky Wood, 38, pleads guilty to involuntary manslaughter, armed criminal action, second-degree assault, unlawful possession of a firearm, and careless and imprudent driving. He is now facing 7 years in prison.

Impaired Drivers Courses Gain Popularity


This year, the FCPD along with the Forest City Youth Council will be hosting the “Safe Roads Safe Home For The Holidays” event. The Forest City Police Department uses the DWI course to raise awareness on the effects and consequences that driving under the influence can have not only on teenagers but also adults.

MADD Fears For New Mexico


For a few years now, New Mexico has had a decrease in the amount of fatalities caused by drunk driving. Now that trend is at risk, says representative of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
This year, there could be a significant increase in drunk driving fatalities. Ben Lewinger has been tracking yearly statistics and specifies how numbers have risen to at least 104 fatal wrecks to this day. From Thanksgiving to New Year is the peak time of the year where DWI crimes happen.

November 17th Is Red Ribbon Day


In support of a national initiative by MADD, the town of Cochrane has declared November 17th the official Red Ribbon Day for the town. First responders, representatives of MADD and Taxi for You are all joining forces in order to promote awareness about the dangers of drunk driving.
This year, the new campaign aims to target the upcoming Holiday Season because socially, it’s the busiest time of the year and statistically speaking, there are more reports of drunk drivers and accidents on the streets.

New DWI Search Warrant


There will soon be a no refusal policy when it comes to DWI’s in Missouri. Green Courte deputies will now be able to seek search warrants for blood samples if they believe drivers are drunk or under the influence at checkpoints.

Yonkers Woman Goes Bonkers


In Harrison, NY, a woman from Yonkers was arrested for driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest, and assaulting a trooper. State police received a call around 2:00 AM about a vehicle that was spotted driving on its rims on I-684.

Teacher Killed by Drunk Driver


John Groves was driving recklessly and speeding, according to the Jacksonville Beach police. Groves had a blood alcohol level of 0.33 when he hit and killed Honda Accord driver, 27 years old, Bloneva Palmer.
