In Grand Island, Nebraska, police officers and sheriff’s
deputies recently completed 212 hours of overtime targeting drunk drivers in an
effort to enforce the national “You Drink & Drive. You Lose” campaign. The
officers stopped 208 vehicles for 254 various violations.
Statewide, troopers arrested and/or cited 76
impaired drivers, 20 people for being minors in possession, 54 people with open
alcohol containers, 93 people for driving during suspension and 84 people for
not having proof of insurance.
