Saved by a Trooper

Early Saturday morning, David Ploog, an Indiana state trooper, saved the life of a young man after being involved in an accident with someone who was driving impaired on a state road.

Latin McKinney was on the side of the road aiding his sister at the time of the incident, her car stalled in the middle of the highway and needed someone’s help. It was then that Robert Butler collided into McKinney causing a serious injury on his leg.
There was profuse bleeding from the victim’s leg, when trooper Ploog came to the rescue and applied a tourniquet in order to prevent further bleeding. McKinney was transported to a hospital, and even though he’s going through multiple operations, he is expected to make a full recovery.
David Ploog had this to say about his heroic acts, “I just showed up at the right place with the right equipment.”
