Staten Island Man Facing Charges In Fatal DWI


39-year-old Michael Pogorzelski is charged with DWI during a fatal crash on Sunday Jan 27th . According to the Staten Island Police, Pogorzelski struck James Benedict, 67, who died at Staten Island University Hospital.
Pogorzelski was arrested at the scene and charged with manslaughter. While the defense lawyer for Pogorzelski told the court this was an accident, and should be treated that way, Benedict’s family responded back arguing that he decided to drink and drive and therefore, he should pay the price. A bail was set for $50,000 for Pogorzelski.
