New iPhone and Android apps are giving people the ability
to not only get a reading on their blood alcohol levels, but will even call a
cab in their area if they are unable to drive.
Breathometer, for both iPhones
and Androids, plugs into the smartphone’s headphone jack and the user blows
into the device. Its about the size of a car key and uses GPS location to find
a you a cab in your area. The BACtrack for iPhones uses Bluetooth to connect to
the phone and both apps use sensors that meet U.S. Food and Drug Administration
standards and can detect blood alcohol levels with accuracy within 0.01
