Romulo Mejia, 42, slammed into an unidentified victim around
5:00am while driving his Ford down Roosevelt Avenue. Mejia also drove into
oncoming traffic after hitting the pedestrian, slammed into a parked car and
upended a parking meter before stopping.
The unidentified victim was laying in
the center of the street when they unfortunately died. Mejia is facing charges
of vehicular manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and drunken driving.
This marks Mejia’s second arrest for a drunk driving charge in 10 years.
