37-year-old Thomas Jeremy Dick, smashed his pick-up into the van Tiffany was riding in. The fatal accident occurred just after Tiffany had called her mother to let her know she was having contractions. There were three other passengers in the van with Tiffany. Two were taken to the local hospital in stable condition. The third had serious injuries and was med-flighted out.
Tiffany didn't make it, and while the doctors tried to perform an emergency C-Section to save her unborn daughter "Novalee", the baby had also died due to serious injuries sustained in the crash.
Dick was going 20 miles over the speed limit when the accident occurred and had a BAC of .131 - almost twice the legal limit. Witnesses say Dick was driving recklessly, and had more than once driving his truck off the road. Dick, who suffered several bruises and cuts, faces charges of vehicular homicide, DUI manslaughter, DUI involving serious bodily injury, DUI crash involving property damage and DUI.
