A man riding his bike in Portland, Oregon was hit from behind
from a car that sped off after knocking him off of his bike, luckily without
being seriously injured. A couple who
witnessed the hit and run followed the car a few blocks where the driver was
arrested.
The driver, Jennifer Baker, a
29-year-old nanny, was arrested for multiple charges stemming from the incident
after she was found to have a blood alcohol content over 3 times the legal
limit for a driver. Baker had 4 children
in her car at the time of the accident, who she dropped off on the sidewalk a
few minutes after the accident. Police immediately found the children; who were
uninjured but scared and crying after the traumatic experience. Baker will be charged with a range of charges
from reckless driving to criminal mischief for the hit and run as well as
drunkenly driving with children in the car.
