Starting in October,DUI checkpoints were set up randomly around Modesto, CA. Officers will briefly stop all vehicles passing through the checkpoint and scrutinize drivers suspected of being intoxicated.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, when done frequently these checkpoints have proven to be the most effective deterrent of Intoxicated Driving.
