New Jersey law enforcement officials will be setting up checkpoints around Somerset County to get drunk drivers off the road this holiday season. The campaign and crackdown will continue through the beginning of the New Year and will raise awareness about the dangers of drinking and driving.
Since drunk driving usually increases by 10 percent during the holidays, the campaign is the perfect opportunity to spread awareness throughout the community. Chief William Parenti urges people to use mass transit or taxis or designate a sober driver this holiday season.
