Drunk driving prevention gets a technological twist in
Franklin County, Virginia after the Sheriff’s department purchases a “Drunk
Driving Simulator.” A golf cart modified with goggles meant to simulate
impaired vision allows teens and adults to experience the adverse effects of
driving under the influence in a safe and controlled environment. The simulator
is meant to demonstrate the challenges associated with impaired driving in
hopes that the subjects will never make the dangerous decision to drive drunk.
