A new laser based device is being constructed that can
detect alcohol vapor that is exhaled by someone who’s been drinking inside the
car as it passes by. This can help decrease alcohol related crashes, as well as
injuries.
The invention is still in the early stages of development, however,
it will be similar to the radars used by the police for speed-limit
enforcement. The devices will alert police officers about the drunk driver or it
could be equipped with a camera that sends out a photo of the drunk driver’s
car.
