Georgia is gearing up to crackdown on drunk drivers during
the Fourth of July holiday traveling period. The Governor’s Office of Highway
Safety will be specifically targeting suspected drunk drivers.
Harris Blackwood, Governor’s Office of Highway
Safety Director, stated that one driver is typically killed every five hours in
Georgia during the Fourth of July holiday travel period. This is an
exceptionally frightening statistic considering the ‘holiday travel period’
runs for 78 hours between July 3rd and July 6th.
