One Last Time
Having to wake up in her bed one summer night and sleeping in a prison
cell the next. One upper middle-class 51 year old woman ran out her luck. From
years of drunk driving and being pulled over with nothing but a speeding
ticket. This former court clerk, single mother of 2 sons was going to face a
year without her license, a fine of $2,500 and pay a $90 a week for an alcohol
abuse counselor.
This professional writer and teacher with a master’s degree was at
risk of losing it all, on top of being hated by her family and eventually
losing her home without work. She had it all, all except learning too late
about what it is like to lose her freedom to a stupid choice... drunk driving.
