For 20 people in Independence and Gladstone Missouri drinking and driving led to their arrests. Starting Friday night June 14 police in Independence, Missouri began a saturation Patrol which ran from 10 p.m. Friday night until 3 a.m. Saturday morning. They also ran a checkpoint. The result ended in six arrested on suspicion of drunk driving. During the search for drunk drivers 36 violations were reported, six drivers were found operating without valid license and 14 other arrests were made.
In Gladstone, the checkpoint conducted by the city police from 11 p.m. on Saturday to 4 a.m. on Sunday resulted in 14 arrests on charges of drunk driving. That night five others were arrested on charges drug related charges and outstanding warrants. Police are working harder than ever to get drunk drivers off the road. The tactics they use are successful in not only cleaning the streets of dangerous drivers but others breaking the law.
