In Aurora, Colorado, two people were killed by a suspected
drunk driver early Tuesday morning. Investigators said the driver was speeding
when he rear-ended a Ford Escort, then veered into oncoming traffic and crashed
into a Ford F-150.
Both the drivers of the Ford Escort and the Ford F-150 were
killed. Steven Lohner tried to help and told reporters about his encounter with
the suspected drunk driver. “He was really, really angry. I broke out that
window. I could smell the alcohol. He got out of there. He was saying ‘I’m
sorry, I’m sorry.’ And then he started screaming ‘Don’t call the cops.’”
